David Esguerra, D.O., is a Board Certified Dermatologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of the skin, hair, and nails. His practice involves numerous cosmetic procedures, laser surgery, cancer surgery, and general dermatology.
Dr. Esguerra received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1992, and received his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, in 1997. He completed a transitional year in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts, before joining the residency in dermatology at Sun Coast Hospital/Nova Southeastern University in Largo, Florida, in 1998.
Dr. Esguerra served as a Chief Resident in dermatology at Sun Coast Hospital where he lectured on a regular basis at morning report. He also taught students, interns, and residents at the Dermatology Clinic at Sun Coast. During this time he also made numerous presentations at national meetings across the country and contributed to local community education and skin cancer screenings. Dr. Esguerra continues to travel all over the nation to keep up with the latest innovations in the field of dermatology and cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Esguerra's mission is to deliver expert dermatological care with warmth and dedication.
He is currently on staff at Suncoast Hospital as an Attending in Dermatology where he actively participates in teaching new dermatology residents. Other staff appointments include Mease Countryside Hospital, Mease North Bay Hospital, Morton Plant Hospital, Spring Hill Regional Medical Center, and University Community Hospital Carrollwood. He is also in private practice with Bay Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, P.A., with offices in Tampa, Port Richey, Largo, Spring Hill, Palm Harbor, and St. Petersburg.
Dr. Esguerra currently resides in Tampa and enjoys various activities including boating, fishing, and traveling.
