Nevus Spilus

CLICK HERE TO SEE LARGER VIEWNevus spilus (also called ‘nevoid lentigo’) is a benign solitary skin lesion which may appear on any part of the body. This relatively common growth usually appears in infancy or childhood or sometimes at any age. Its appearance is characterized by a light brown patch of pigmentation varying in size from 1 – 20cm. Within this patch are multiple tiny dark brown spots.

CLICK HERE TO SEE LARGER VIEWNo treatment is necessary since a nevus spilus is benign. However, as with any skin marking, if there is any change in color, shape, or size then the lesion should be examined by a physician.
